40 Minutes
(Life Of A Commuter)
This photography series is a personal exploration of mental health, born from a desire to find sanctuary amidst life’s chaos. Reflecting on struggles with loneliness, self-doubt, and the cultural stigma surrounding mental health in Asian communities, I found solace in observing fleeting moments of commuters lost in thought.
Captured discreetly with a mobile phone, the portraits reveal individuals in their private worlds during brief escapes from daily demands, symbolising a shared desire for refuge.

The consistent framing and subdued tones convey a quiet melancholy, echoing my internal battles while highlighting the universality of these experiences. Ultimately, the project invites conversations about mental health and the importance of creating safe spaces for vulnerability and self-worth.

The project is open for collaboration with publishers interested in bringing these stories to a wider audience.
